There are several inspiring examples of community and regional development programmes in CEE that successfully apply the principles of social permaculture. These initiatives demonstrate how participatory, resilient, and locally rooted approaches can strengthen social cohesion and local economies. In this presentation, we will explore a selection of good practices from both rural and urban contexts across the CEE region. We will examine the typical patterns, methods, and underlying principles that contribute to their success, as well as the challenges they face.

My name is Kinga Milánkovics, and I was born in 1970. The past few years have been marked by change, both externally and internally. In the summer of 2014, my family and I moved abroad, and I am currently professionally active in three countries: Malta, the United Kingdom, and Hungary.
I am a so-called social entrepreneur (though this is not my identity, it is the term that best describes what I do). I taught at SZIE in Gödöllő for 14 years. I have served as a consultant to local governments on environmental projects, and to this day I am a civil activist on sustainability issues. Over the years, I have organized, managed, conducted, and contributed to countless courses, trainings, communities, and projects. We established women’s circles, communities, and civil society organizations in collaboration with other women.
A few years ago, I trained in elderly care, and worked as a caregiver in England. Meanwhile, I conduct research and participate in environmental and sustainability projects (primarily permaculture) in Malta and Hungary. I am a member of MAPER (Hungarian Permaculture Association), leading the workgroup of social permaculture.
